Hitman: Absolution – Easter Egg Hunt

Hitman Absolution Easter EggsThe latest Hitman entry has received somewhat mixed reviews since release; thankfully this article doesn’t feature scathing critique or arse-licking praise – it’s just a simple round-up some of the strange and wonderful Easter eggs you can find throughout the game.

Be aware that these videos will more than likely contain spoilers from Absolution, so only carry on watching if you’ve already completed the game or if you don’t mind getting certain elements ruined for you.

Enjoy, and let us know in the comments if you’ve found any other secrets or Easter Eggs:

Loch Ness Monster

The first Easter egg in our list is Nessie herself, who appears in the very first mission/tutorial of Absolution. Players need only complete a simple series of actions to witness this rather weird event, which seems massively out of place in a game like Hitman. Still, it’s a rather funny secret to find.

Kane and Lynch Return

This particular entry is unavoidable, unless you’re deaf, dumb and blind as fuck. Kane and Lynch appear at least three or four times throughout the game in various levels. Many critics hated the Kane and Lynch series of video games but we quite liked them at TekGabber, let’s hope their inclusion in Absolution is a good sign for future games in the series.

47 Gets Nuked

Here’s one of the other appearances of Lynch, albeit only in a cutscene. This particular cutscene is triggered by Agent 47 getting a bit trigger happy and shooting a huge nuclear missile in Dexter Industries (something which is definitely not a good idea). The resulting explosion most certainly ends this particular Hitman’s career.

Allan, Please Add More Detail!

This small Easter egg is a clever reference to a small bug in the last Hitman game. One of the developers, Allan, forgot to add details to a certain object so the item description featured a reminder for him to do so. This time round we get to see another message for Allan, intentionally left in the game this time though.

The Laughing Pig

This rather disturbing discovery in Absolution is found in Dexter Industries. Not much to say about this one, apart from the fact that it’s ever so slightly terrifying.

Mini Ninjas Statues

The developers of Hitman (IO) have included this cute little reference to another one of their video game franchises, Mini Ninjas. They can be found in the Rosewood mission at various spots around the level.

Double Rainbow all the waaaaaaaaay…

This smart little reference to one of the most beloved viral videos on the web can be found in the very last mission on Absolution. The epilogue takes place in a cemetery/crematorium and the double rainbow Easter egg can be achieved by shooting a few statues.

Lenny Screams for Ice Cream

One of the most interesting moments in the game is a small interlude-type level set in the scorching hot desert. Agent 47 is systematically torturing a poor, semi-retarded son of a bitch named Lenny (yeah, he’s kind of a dick) – once he gets the information he needs out of him the player is allowed to finish him off how they wish. Check out the video below for an amazing way to go about this grizzly task.

Like we said earlier, let us know if you’ve found any other Easter eggs and we’ll update our list!
