Rockstar Want Players to Fly Between Cities in Next GTA
A recent interview at Digital Trends with producer of the GTA series and head of Rockstar North Leslie Benzies hinted at what we can expect to see in future GTA titles.
Most of the interview was dedicated to Vice City and the continued love that the video game community has shown towards one of the most star-studded tales of crime and cocaine to hit the home console crowd.
Leslie had this to say at one point in the interview:
“…at some point we would like to have one big world containing all our cities and let the player fly between them and revisit their favorite areas, and in that context re-imagining Vice City would be very interesting.”
As many GTA players know, something of this size and scope would be almost completely unheard of, and even just a small throwaway quote like this has had many folks theorising about the possibilities of a huge inter-connected world.
As Leslie mentioned in the quote, Vice City would be an extremely interesting setting to revisit, as this is a setting that was just as influenced by the era as it was location. Perhaps a modern day Vice City would look much like a drug-addled Hawaii or Miami, with Dog the Bounty Hunter-style meth addicts and biker gangs.

That sounds like it has a lot of potential.
